3 reviews for MSI MAG 274QRF QD E2 27 Inch WQHD Gaming Monitor (MAG 274QRF QD E2)

I recently upgraded to the MSI MAG 274QRF-QD E2 for my new gaming and productivity setup, and I am extremely happy with the purchase. This monitor aligns perfectly with the black-themed aesthetics of my build, and the subtle RGB on the back complements the overall look nicely. MSI really nailed the design and build quality, it feels premium and well-engineered.
Performance-wise, the highlight of this display is definitely the 180Hz refresh rate paired with fast response times. The motion clarity during fast gameplay is exceptional, and my experience in competitive shooters and AAA titles has been noticeably better compared to my previous 144Hz monitor. The panel itself offers great colors, strong brightness, and the Quantum Dot technology enhances vibrancy in games and movies alike.
Another major positive is the stand, the height, tilt, and swivel adjustability make this one of the best monitor stands I’ve used. It’s sturdy, smooth to adjust, and allows the kind of ergonomics that many premium monitors still miss. The I/O selection is also solid, with multiple DisplayPort and USB connectivity options. While I do wish MSI included HDMI 2.1 instead of 2.0 for the sake of future-proofing and potential console support, it doesn’t affect my experience since I’m using DisplayPort for PC gaming anyway.
As happy as I am overall, I do want to mention two small issues. First, my particular unit seems to have a noticeable red tint, especially in desktop and media use. Oddly, this is less visible while gaming, likely due to the more dynamic color palette in games. With calibration, I’ve been able to reduce the problem but not eliminate it fully. Second, while I like the idea of rear RGB as a design feature, I just wish it were slightly brighter so it could be more visible with ambient lighting.
Despite these minor points, I am very pleased with the monitor and highly recommend it. It hits a fantastic balance of performance, build quality, and design. If you’re looking for a fast 1440p gaming display with great ergonomics and premium visuals, this is a superb choice.

The MSI B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi 7 has turned out to be an outstanding foundation for my new PC build, and I couldn’t be happier with the choice. I used the B450 Tomahawk in my previous system, so upgrading to this board felt like a familiar and reliable step up, and MSI delivered exactly what I hoped for. The black color scheme fits my build aesthetic perfectly, keeping things stealthy and clean without unnecessary loud design elements.
Functionally, the motherboard is packed with features that genuinely improve the building experience. The large VRM heatsinks not only look impressive but help ensure stable performance for high-end CPUs like the Ryzen 9000 series. Fan and ARGB header placement is also excellent, allowing tidy cable management in my Antec C5 case, a detail many boards overlook. The PCIe slot easy-latch mechanism is a lifesaver for GPU removal, and I’m glad to see it included here.
Storage support is another huge win. This is one of the few boards in this price range to support four M.2 drives, including two PCIe Gen 5 slots, which makes it incredibly future-proof. Between fast storage and connectivity options like WiFi 7, this board feels ready for the long haul. Overall, the board is fully loaded with features that matter, without overpriced gimmicks.
As for the downsides — they’re more on the preference side. I’m not a fan of the neon green/yellow Arsenal branding accents, but thankfully they are placed in areas that can be easily hidden once the GPU and cooling are installed. I also wish MSI kept the excellent rear I/O layout of the older B650 Tomahawk, which had more USB Type-A ports. Tool-less M.2 installation on all slots would have been appreciated too, especially on a premium-tier board.
Finally, while Click BIOS X is designed to be user-friendly, I personally preferred the older Tomahawk BIOS UI , it felt more enthusiast-oriented and slightly easier to navigate for tweaking.
Overall, these are minor criticisms in what is otherwise a fantastic and feature-rich board. For anyone building a high-performance AM5 system with strong aesthetics and usability, the B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi 7 is a superb choice, and one I definitely recommend.
